Final sculpting day – Sunday 29th August
A showery, windy day that finally came good with blue skies and warm sunshine to bathe the sculptors in a warm glow as they draw to the end of their week of carving. The finished sculptures are unrecognisable from the timber each sculptor was given only a week ago. Some striking, some peaceful, some comic, some still, the artists have revealed the stunning designs at the heart of the timber, each in his own style to create a wide variety of unique artworks.
Some sculptors have gone on to create a second piece, that you can see below and which will also be available to purchase at the auction. Every sculpture sold means more of Africa’s poorest people will harness the potential of trees to become self reliant and improve the environment.
Don’t be late, we kick off the Auction at 3pm on Bank holiday Monday!
