Sculpture Auction

Sculptree auctioneer

Professional auctioneer, John Jenkins, has been selling sculptures at Sculptree for more than ten years.

Bank Holiday Monday 30th August at 3pm

After seven days of hard carving, the excitement of the Auction kicks off at 3pm on Bank Holiday Monday 30th August. The chainsaws are packed away and the finished sculptures have their barriers removed so you can get up close and really experience the beauty of the completed artworks.

These unique sculptures look stunning in a garden setting, and provide a real talking point. The transformation from mature tree in the Arboretum to magnificent sculpture, to life changing seedlings in a rural African village, gives you an exceptional way to make a real difference.

How do I register for the Auction?

To register for the Auction just come along to the TREE AID marquee and sign up anytime over the Bank holiday Weekend. If you can’t make it to the Arboretum at Westonbirt, but have your heart set on one of the sculptures, you can register a sealed bid by calling 07950 359232 until 2pm on Monday 30th August.

How much do the Sculptures sell for?

This is a fundraising auction, with the proceeds being split between the Sculptors, Tree Aid and Westonbirt Arboretum.

Sculptures have sold for prices ranging from £1000 to £10,000! Sculptors often carve smaller secondary pieces so that there is something for everyone on the day of the auction.

The split of proceeds works as follows:

  • The Arboretum at Westonbirt takes 10% commission from the closing bid
  • Of the remaining funds, the Sculptors keep up to the first £1000 bid
  • Tree Aid keeps up to the second £1000 bid
  • Any resulting bids are split equally 50/50 between the Sculptor and Tree Aid

So, while we all like to take home a bargain, the more generous your bid, the bigger difference you make for families battling poverty and climate change in Africa’s rural dry-lands.
